PlateLoc seal selection guide
Check web handling, seal integrity, removal, storage and solvent resistance when selecting a roll film.
Check the roll and equipment first
Confirm roll width, core, winding direction and loading method. The catalog lists LX11031R as a 115 mm × 400 m roll and recommends 150–180°C for 3–5 seconds. During trial runs, check web centering, tension, cutting and take-up.
Four performance checks
| Check | Method | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Seal integrity | Inspect every well rim for continuous contact and recheck under real storage conditions. | Lifted edges, channels, damage and leakage |
| Peeling and piercing | Use the intended access method and check for tearing or residue. | Removal consistency, piercing and residue |
| Evaporation and storage | Compare mass or volume before and after storage using the same plate and fill volume. | Time, temperature and edge-well differences |
| Chemical compatibility | Test the actual DMSO or other solvent system against the film, adhesive and seal. | Solvent, concentration and contact time |
Five-step validation checklist
- Record the current plate, instrument, film, sample and storage conditions.
- Seal a test batch using the candidate film's recommended settings.
- Inspect every well, then test peeling or piercing.
- Measure evaporation and leakage under real storage and transport conditions.
- Document final settings and lots before a small continuous run.
The catalog lists LX11031R as a cross-reference to Agilent 24214-001. Confirm selection against the actual plate and instrument results.
